2024 Dig locations

 This year, we are supporting a new excavation site at the historic home of Joseph Smith III, located in Lamoni, Iowa. Paul DeBarthe is the archaeologist managing the site investigation. The Iowa State Archaeologist has approved the project, and it will maintain professional standards throughout. This year, volunteers for the Nauvoo site — the Hyrum office and store — will be limited to the field school students from Western Illinois University.
